MICHAEL SHUMAN

Michael Shuman (aka Mikey Shoes) is an American rock musician and DJ who is best known as the new bass player for Queens of the Stone Age. Shuman co-founded, co-fronted and played bass for Jubilee until late 2008, and is currently the bassist of Wires On Fire as well as Queens of the Stones. Shuman joined Queens of the Stone Age in 2007, before the release of Era Vulgaris, replacing Alain Johannes who choose to focus on other musical projects.

Wires On Fire have released titles such as Homewrecker EP (2004), Wires on Fire/Mean Reds split (2006) and their self-titled LP (2006), which sold particularly well in the United Kingdom. The band has toured all over the United States, sharing the stage with acts such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Icarus Line, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Cold War Kids, Black Lips, Man Man, Death From Above 1979, Pink Mountaintops and others. In addition to his ongoing work with Wires on Fire and Queens of the Stone Age, Shuman also performs gigs as a DJ.
