REFLECTION ETERNAL

Reflection Eternal is a hip-hop duo that consists of Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek. They released their first, and only album, Train of Thought in 2000. The two met in Tek’s native Cincinnati, following the release of the Hi-Tek/Mood collaboration “Hustle on the Side.” Kweli and Hi-Tek made their first official collaboration in 1997 on Mood’s debut album, Doom, on the track “Industry Lies.” That same year, the two formed as Reflection Eternal and signed to Rawkus. They recorded two singles – “Fortified Live” and “2000 Seasons” – which were featured on the Rawkus compilation Soundbombing in 1997. They continued to work together on songs that were featured on Mos Def and Kweli’s Black Star in 1998. In 1999, they also contributed one song to Soundbombing II. Train of Thought was released in 2000 and reached as high as number 17 on the Billboard 200 and number 5 on the R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart. Throughout the years, the two have continued to work together on each other’s solo projects and a new Reflection Eternal has been rumored to be coming out soon.
